Interview | Boost: Building a New Green Lubrication Ecosystem through Technological Innovation

From June 4 to 6, 2025, the 24th Shanghai International Lubricants & Application Technology Exhibition and Shanghai International Metalworking Fluids & Surface Cleaning Exhibition took center stage at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Over 200 enterprises spanning the entire lubricant industry chain converged in Hall N5 of the venue, where the atmosphere buzzed with energy. Guangdong Boost New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Boost") is a manufacturing enterprise integrating R&D, production and sales. At the exhibition site, Boost made a grand debut with its newly developed fully automatic laboratory glassware cleaner – a heavyweight product that precisely meets the needs of laboratory intelligent upgrading and became the focus of attention across the venue.

Ms. Luo from Boost stated, "To keep pace with the intelligent development of the industry, Boost has taken the lead in launching this fully automatic laboratory glassware cleaner that integrates cleaning, disinfection, and drying functions. It can achieve a cleanliness standard of ppb level and customize standardized cleaning processes for different cleaning needs. Currently, two versions of this product – the standard version and the laboratory-specific version – are available, and they will become the new core equipment standard for intelligent clean laboratories."

As learned by Reporter Ms. Huang Yingmei, the product has garnered significant attention from the industry as soon as it hit the market. It gained immense popularity at the exhibition site, with over 10 orders closed within just two days. This not only reflects the market's high recognition of Boost's product quality and technological strength but also fully demonstrates the brand influence of Boost as an innovative leader in the industry. It marks a solid step forward for Boost in advancing the intelligent and green upgrading of laboratories, and also sets a new benchmark for the entire testing and cleaning equipment sector.


02 Solid R&D Backing: Leading the Industry’s Technological Development Standards


As the first enterprise in China focusing on innovative solutions for metalworking fluid lubricity testing, Boost has been deeply engaged in this field for more than a decade, constantly breaking through industry barriers. In 2024, the China Surface Engineering Association announced the list of winners of the 2024 "China Surface Engineering Association Science and Technology Award". Relying on its independently developed project titled A Lubrication Testing System for Evaluating the Lubricating Performance of Metalworking (Oil) Fluids, Boost won the Third Prize of the 2024 "China Surface Engineering Association Science and Technology Progress Award". Its R&D capabilities and industrial value have once again received authoritative recognition.


Currently, Boost’s lubrication testing system – designed for evaluating the lubricating performance of metalworking (Oil) Fluids – has been successfully implemented in a number of enterprises. It helps customers accurately optimize lubricating performance and accelerates their progress toward high-precision, standardized production.


In addition, another star equipment developed by Boost – the Tapping Torque Testing System – has also delivered outstanding performance, with its market application continuing to expand.


Ms. Luo revealed to Lubricant Guidebook that Boost’s Tapping Torque Testing System has now been adopted by major universities, research institutions, and leading brands in the industry, including Shanghai Institute of Technology, Shaanxi University of Technology, Shandong Provincial Laboratory of Yantai Advanced Materials and Green Manufacturing, as well as industry benchmark enterprises such as Franklin, Tailide, Yucheng, and Beifang. The system has won high market recognition and continuous repeat purchases from customers.

03 Deepen Green R&D to Advance the Industry’s Sustainable Development


Currently, green and environmentally friendly development has become an irreversible global trend, and the lubricant industry is also embracing a critical juncture of transformation and upgrading. As a technology-driven enterprise deeply rooted in the metalworking fluid sector, Boost has always integrated the concept of green development into the entire product lifecycle – from formulation and production processes to management and recycling – promoting the implementation of environmental protection technologies across the entire chain.


When interviewed by Ms. Huang Yingmei, Ms. Luo of Boost stated that the company has now completed a technological revolution in pure formulations. By reducing the use of certain components at the source, it has achieved zero addition of harmful substances such as sulfur, phosphorus, chlorine, boron, formaldehyde, phenol, and sodium nitrite, completely breaking the industry dilemma where environmental protection and performance cannot be achieved simultaneously.


Not only that, in the metalworking fluid production process, Boost has also introduced a supporting intelligent concentration management system, which significantly extends the service life of cutting fluids and helps enterprises achieve high-efficiency, low-energy-consumption green operations and maintenance. Meanwhile, in terms of end-of-pipe treatment, Boost has planned and developed a waste fluid recycling and treatment production line solution, achieving a recycling rate of up to 90% and promoting the formation of a closed-loop green recycling system.


In the future, Boost will also continue to deepen the R&D of "green lubrication" technology, helping the industry move forward continuously in the direction of environmental protection, high efficiency and sustainability.
